One of only two historic Vermont farming areas in the US Department of
the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places, the Jericho Rural
Historic District of Windsor County comprises 774 acres that still
reflect the character of eighteenth and nineteenth century New England
farm communities.
The Fairbrothers farmstead comprises over 270 acres of the District.
The Farm’s fields and woodlands stretch from the Griggs Mountain ridge
on the northwest, across Jericho Brook, and over the top of Savage Hill
on the southeast.
Features of the property include:
- a network of existing trails
- streams and hilltops
- forested areas, deer wintering areas
- classic New England barns
- horse facilities
- wildlife, fields and farmland
Here the Fairbrothers family is working with some of the area’s premier
builders, architects, and real estate professionals to create a farm
and woodland preservation community, offering luxury custom residences
located and designed to be in harmony with the land and the historic
character of the district:
-
Open areas and woods are preserved by conservation easements and privacy buffers around the central, working farm.
-
Development areas are identified; buyers have the option of participating in choices of locations and lot lines.
-
Everyone on the Farm has common access to trails, fields and woods, and the working farm.
-
Equestrian facilities at the Farm include an 11-stall horse barn, outdoor and indoor arenas, riding trails, and fields.
Looking west from the Fairbrothers Farm on a clear day you can see up
to sixty miles into the Green Mountains of Vermont, or east into the
White Mountains of New Hampshire. Five miles to the northeast is
Hanover, NH, home to the Ivy League’s Dartmouth College, and Lebanon,
NH and the nationally renowned Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
The Farm offers the advantages of farm life, close to all the
attractions of the Upper Connecticut River Valley region, without the
burdens of managing a large farmstead.
